DRE V. SÁNCHEZ (born Andrés Víctor Sánchez) is a bold and cinematic creative. He specializes in branding, posters, story art, package design, concept art, photography and film production. A self-taught artist, Dre was born in Chicago in 1985 but moved to South Florida in 1996. From 2004 to 2008, he studied politics, criminology and psychology at Florida Atlantic University. After moving back to Chicago in 2009, Dre focused his interests on cinema, graphic design and animation. He attended DePaul University in 2010 so that he could expand his vision creatively with a Master of Science in cinema production.

Dre can be found roaming the city with a Canon 7D camera around his neck and a sketchpad in his hand. A disciple of film, animation and design, he is constantly meeting new people with similar interests and ambitions. Dre frequents the Lincoln Park Zoo for inspiration on his alone time. His best friend is a basset hound named Hamlet. His three most favorite creatives are painter Van Gogh, designer Saul Bass and illustrator Jack Kirby. Other painters he adore are Mary Blair, Alice Provensen, Charley Harper, Maurice Noble and Eyvind Earle. Illustrators that move him include comic legends Frank Miller, Darwyn Cooke, Tim Sale, Mike Mignola and Chris Bachalo. Animators like Tex Avery, Bob Clampett and John Kricfalusi have had a huge impact on his cartooning style. On the musical end of things, ’60s rock icons like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison fuel the brain. Other musicians that have made a strong impact on Dre’s work includes composers (Henry Mancini and Ennio Morricone), rockers (Trent Reznor, David Gilmour, Robert Plant and Neil Young) and crooners (Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield).

If you are looking for a passionate and cooperative visual artist and filmmaker, let Dre be that professional that can help you. Thank you. Until then, be on the watch this July 2015 for the start of THE UNLOVABLES. It features two mythological misfits that cause mayhem in Chicago. Their names are Echo the nymph and Thud the minotaur! Exciting times ahead…
